New England Area Training Services

New England Area Training Services Limited (NEATS) is a public company.  NEATS delivers the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) program, which is a post graduate (vocational / apprenticeship style) training program, specialising in General Practice. The AGPT program is run over a three year period with an optional fourth year and Advanced Rural Skills Posts. Program delivery is flexible.

NEATS offers opportunities to experience regional and rural medicine in the New England and North West regions of NSW. Our region stretches from the Queensland border in the north, the Liverpool Ranges of the Hunter Valley in the south, the opal fields in the west and the Great Dividing Range to the east, encompassing cities and towns including Tamworth, Armidale and Moree.

Dr Khandker Ahmed completed the RACGP Fellowship and Advanced Rural Skills post in Anaesthetics with NEATS in 2006
